The Horse's Mouth rides into Los Angeles on June 9th &10th to perform at The Hansen Dam Horse Park during the Gold Coast June Horse Show. Tanya Gagné, pioneer, icon and innovator of punk rock circus and cabaret has built a mobile theater in the back of an old horse trailer from her family’s farm in NH. She will be joined by internationally acclaimed circus superstars Elena Brocade and Clay Mazing. This one hour show will be wondrous, beautiful, funny and fantastic. There will be mind blowing magic! Flying carousel ponies on the trapeze!! A hula hooping chicken!!! Trick ropin', whip crackin', flaming gun spinnin' & more cowpoke sideshow shenanigans!!!! You do not want to miss this surreal spectacular showdown hoedown that is here to bring joy, levity and giddy up to your community. Bring a blanket or your favorite lawn chair and cozy on up to the ring! There will also be a food truck and bar for your enjoyment. The Gold Coast Horse Shows series features USEF hunter/jumper shows, and western shows featuring classic western classes, Ranch Riding, and Reining. ETI Corral 101 hosts two day shows with classes for all breeds, english, and western classes. The Interscholastic League recognizes middle and high school riders competing on behalf of their schools. Multiple colleges host Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association Show for college equestrian athletes, and a variety of breed organizations showcase their specific horse types at specialty shows at HDHP.
Meet the Cast:
Tanya Gagne, part carny, part sailor, part showgirl, is one half
of the award-winning, neo-vaudeville sensation the Wau Wau
Sisters as well as a long-time proud veteran of La Soireé, La
Clique, the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, LAVA and Circus Amok.
She is also the founder and director of the Trapeze Loft and
Big Sky Works, a circus school and mutli-disciplinary
community arts and performance space in Brooklyn, NY where
she taught circus arts for over 15 years. Her work has been
produced around the world and she has been an award winner
at the Edinburgh, Brighton and Adelaide Fringe. Awards
include: Miss Exotic World Best Duo, the Herald Angel Award,
Best International Act and Best Cabaret Show. She has also
performed and toured with Ricochet, Briefs Factory, Stinky Monkey, CASUS, UpUpUp Inc., Flotsam River Circus & New Old Time Chataqua. Most recently she starred in the Award Winning Cabaret show Mavericks in Las Vegas.
For near around 20 years Clay Mazing, the whip-cracking, lasso-spinning, comedic vaudevillian, and multi-instrumentalist has performed all over the world from dive bars to county fairs to classy theaters to packed stadiums and even in television and film. As founder of a non-profit humanitarian project called the Emergency Circus, Clay has performed alongside Dr. Patch Adams and with Clowns Without Borders for Syrian refugees in Jordan, occupied Palestinians in the West Bank, the slums of Haiti, and hospitalized children all over North America to name a few.
As a performing artist, choreographer and costume designer, Elena Brocade has worked internationally in the aerial arts and illusion magic for 20 years, with credits that range from The Magic Castle, The Chicago Contemporary Circus Festival, Zoppe Family Circus, Circus Flora, Master's of Illusion CW, The Go Big Show TBS, Italy's Tù Sì Que Vales TELE5, and Hong Kong's 2008 Olympic festivities. Elena has innovated the circus arts with the creation of the first-ever Aerial Quick Change act on Spanish web and introduced the relationship of dance and acrobatics to the setters role. Her work centers around archetypal storytelling, where transformation plays a role both figuratively and literally.
